I’ve been trying to write about my trip to Morocco I’ve been trying to write about my trip to Morocco for 9 months now and I can’t seem to get the words out. I don’t entirely know what to say.

My iPhone notes are full of narrative threads and turns of phrase, usually ones that popped into my head at 3am. I write. Abandon. Reread 2 months later. Delete most of it. Start again in a new direction.

It was a significant trip but, in retrospect, not monumental. It didn’t change me but rather scratched an itch; it was more confirming than enlightening, so why does it matter? Why is my story worth telling?

I’ll probably never be able to answer that question, but maybe eventually I will actually have one to share.

(And also, I’ve never shared most of my photos. So I’ll share a few now, as my days are filled with little more than school, work, and soccer practice.)

Catching end-of-summer vibes at Pickwick Landing S Catching end-of-summer vibes at Pickwick Landing SP. (@pickwick_landing_state_park)

✅ Lakefront living
✅ Modern lodge amenities (@lodgepickwicklanding)
✅ Quality fam time

This park is slightly off-the-beaten path bc it’s not near any major interstates—you go about halfway between Nashville and Memphis and head straight south towards the TN-MS-AL border.

The lake is magnificent (those sunsets!) and the lodge is pretty stellar, too.

🌿 Enjoy an urban adventure day with this easy pave 🌿 Enjoy an urban adventure day with this easy paved route…

Ok, if you don’t already know, Nashville has an amazing system of @greenwaysfornashville that stretch all over the city. Kids will 🩵 to bring their bikes or scooters along!

⏱️1.6 miles round trip
🚶‍♀️Paved surface
🏔️Mostly flat
🌳Mostly sunny (with shady rest stops)
🛝Frankie Pierce Park is on the western end, a great spot to play!
🍅And just 1/3-mile north is the @nashvillefarmersmarket! Add this to your walk and explore @bimalltnsp.

⚠️As a linear path, you can begin at either the western end (Frankie Pierce Park) OR the eastern end at 11th Ave N in the heart of the Gulch. If you’re a local driving to the area, consider starting at the Farmer’s Market to avoid expensive Gulch parking lot fees.

We had the BEST day or riding, playing, and ending with a pizza lunch special at @goodfellaspie!

👉 SAVE this post and check the grid for the other family-friendly trails around Nashville I’ve shared this summer. This is my last one for now (bye bye, break 😭), but follow @hopsandskips for more ideas year-round!
